You are selected to live in a standard double room on the third floor of State House, a standard single on the second floor of Lombard Hall, or in a standard double on the first floor of 886 Brush Hill Road. Will uncleanliness, a lack of privacy, and a lack of space cause you to move to a different resident building on the North Campus at Curry College?
State House
A resident who identifies as a male can live in a standard single or in a standard double on the first floor, or on the second floor of the State House. A resident assistant (RA) who identifies as a male can live in a standard single on the second floor of the resident building. A resident who identifies as a female can live in a standard single or in a standard double on the
third floor, or on the fourth floor of the State House. A resident assistant (RA) who identifies as a female can live in a standard single on the third floor of the resident building.
A resident who does not identify as a male or a female may feel uncomfortable to live in a standard single or a standard double because there are no gender-neutral floors in the State House, unfortunately. There is one laundry room, and a gym on the first floor of the resident building.
One resident who lived in a standard double on the third floor of the State House last semester said, “I hear that the fitness room in State is one of the new improvements from last year, but I don’t have a frame of reference to compare these improvements to. The fitness room seems nice. I like the opportunity to exercise in close proximity compared to having to go to the fitness center at the Stu. It offers a little more privacy too, which I like.”
There is one common room on the second floor, and there is one communal bathroom on each of the four floors in the resident building. The resident who lived in a standard double on the third floor of the State House last semester also said, “I think the bathrooms and plumbing situation could be improved. Toilets get clogged frequently and there is not enough privacy with the showers. There is a single curtain between the person showering and other users. It is also a very small space.”
The resident building was built as a replication of the State House located in Boston, Massachusetts, and is located next to
Lombard Hall on the North Campus at Curry College. The resident who lived in a standard double on the third floor of the State House last semester said, “State House has a very beautiful exterior, however, the interior could use a facelift.”
Lombard Hall

A resident who identifies as a male can live in a standard single or in a standard doubleon th e first floor, or on the second floor of Lombard Hall. There is one laundry room on the first floor, and there is one common room on the second floor of the resident building. There is one communal bathroom on each floor of Lombard Hall.
Graham Nielson, a resident who lives on the second floor of the resident building, said “I think improvements for Lombard are a huge necessity. At the end of the day having a comfortable place to take a shower that’s clean and updated would make living a lot more comfortable.”
The resident who lives on the second floor of Lombard Hall also said, “I personally feel like improvements for Lombard would make students living here way more comfortable. Freshman year is a huge change, and being comfortable honestly is one of the most important factors. A clean and new space would definitely contribute to our first year adjusting.”
The residence is located next to Mayflower Hall on the North Campus at Curry College.
886 Brush Hill Road

A resident who identifies as a female or a male can live in a standard single or in a standard double on the first floor, second floor, and third floor of 886 Brush Hill Road. A resident assistant (RA) who identifies as a female or a male can live in a standard single in each pod on the first floor, second floor, or third floor of the resident building.
Nora Madison, a resident who lives in a standard double on the first floor of 886 Brush Hill Road, said “Those buildings are very hot, and students having to purchase their own AC and have to pay for it to get in is very unfair. Also, the living conditions like some of the sizes of the rooms are questionable and the rodent situation in the building should be handled as well.”
There is one laundry room on the first floor, and there is one common room in each pod on the first floor, second floor, and
third floor of the resident building. The resident who lives in a standard double on the first floor of the resident building also said, “Some improvements that could be done in 886 is sometimes it gets really cold or hot and we only have one of the other ones in the building so it won’t be nice to be able to control both. I would also say the laundry room needs improvement because of everyone’s clothes getting thrown around in there.”
886 Brush Hill Road is located next to 874 Brush Hill Road on the North Campus at Curry College.
