Longtime Curry College president, Dr. William Boyle, Jr., died on Friday, November 10th in Utica, New York. He was 90 years old.
Boyle was the president of Curry from 1978 to 1992, according to his obituary published on Legacy.com.
Boyle was a lifelong educator. Prior to Curry, Boyle was president of Keuka College, in upstate New York. After retiring, Boyle remained very active in the Utica area, establishing scholarships and a community foundation.
According to his obituary, Boyle was “predeceased by his sister, Mary Ann Seitz (Boyle); and is survived by his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, several cousins and loyal friends, both local and elsewhere.”
Funeral arrangements and burial are private. According to the obituary, “His family asks that if you are so inclined, you may make a donation to the Willowvale Fire Company, P.O. Box 69, Chadwicks, NY 13319. Online messages of sympathy may be left, at www.fwefh.com.”
