The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force and the FBI’s Criminal Division are now part of the ongoing investigation into the series of hate crimes that have occurred on campus, according to an email to the Curry community on Thursday, February 24th.
In the email, David Szczerbacki, the Executive Vice President and Provost for the college, said the FBI is working directly with Milton Police and providing updates to the Curry administration on a regular basis.
Milton Police responded to campus last night when some students heard loud noises, but the Provost said these did not turn into anything significant.
The Provost also said more cameras have been installed.
“On campus, cameras continue to be installed inside foyers of residence halls (SCRH, NCRH, Lombard, Mayflower, Green House, Brown House, Bell Hall 1st floor entry, Bell Hall 3rd floor entry, 886 BHR, Suites, Milton Hall,” the email said.
Given the enhanced safety protocols, Szczerbacki said hyflex teaching would end after this week, and the college would likely return to “normal operations” this weekend, with classes back in-person next week.
The college will be holding a mandatory meeting on Friday afternoon, February 25th, from 1 to 4 p.m. for the entire campus community. Emails with information about the event and a link to the stream, will be coming soon.
