After a several months search, Curry College has hired a new Public Safety Chief. Patrick Foley, the Deputy Chief at Berklee College of Music, will replace former chief, Paul King, who left the post earlier in the fall semester.

In an email to the Curry community, Erik Muurisepp, the Vice-President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students, said Foley will join the college on January 13th.

During Foley’s eight years at Berklee he rose through the ranks from an officer to eventually becoming Deputy Chief. He has also served at Massachusetts Maritime Academy and the Falmouth Police Department.

Muurisepp said during the search process it became clear Foley had made a “significant impact” on the Berklee campus, “…through a dedicated approach to community policing, a commitment to the safety and security of his student body, his understanding of the importance of supporting his officers and staff within the Berklee College Police Department, and his demonstrated record of launching new initiatives and reviews of practice, policy and processes for that department,” the email stated.

Muurisepp added, “I look forward to having Patrick bring his strong organizational skills, future planning mindset, and student-centered approach to Curry as we look to the next chapter for Public Safety.”

The Curry community will have opportunities to meet the new Public Safety Chief once the college returns for the Spring semester.
