Theodore Runs Alone for SGA Presidency
BY NICK IRONSIDE // APRIL 17, 2012 //
Sophomore class president Corey Theodore, a biology major, is running unopposed for the presidency of Curry’s Student Government Association. Peter Maxwell, a junior communication major, was forced to drop out of the race before it even started because he incorrectly filled out the nomination papers necessary to get on the ballot. Maxwell appealed the decision, but the SGA upheld it, leaving Theodore running without a challenger.
Two of the three other executive board seats are similarly uncontested races. Lindsey Gallagher, a sophomore early education major, is running for vice president, while Nick Colicchio, a sophomore communication major, is running for treasurer. No one is running for secretary.
Voting for executive board members begins today, April 17, and ends Friday, April 20. Voting for class officers begins on Tuesday, April 24 and ends Friday, April 27.
In the interview below, Theodore speaks about his plans to improve SGA and Curry.
What changes need to be made at Curry?
What needs to stay the same?
What are some of the problems at Curry that you will attempt to address first?
How are you going to reach the students?
How will your two years of SGA experience help?
How do you plan on hearing and dealing with students ideas and complaints?
Any last thoughts?
