The long awaited announcement regarding whether guests can attend the upcoming Class of 2020 and 2021 commencements has been answered. Two guests will be allowed per graduate, and everyone attending the graduation ceremonies will follow strict Covid guidelines.

The graduations will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Katz Football Field, with the Class of 2020 on Saturday May 22nd, followed by the Class of 2021 on Sunday May 23rd.

Both commencements will be shorter in length with some parts of the ceremony, like speeches and songs, expected to be videotaped earlier and played at the ceremonies, according to college officials.

Here’s general information that the College sent to both classes:

“In following public health and state guidelines, we’re instituting some steps to help provide a safe and enjoyable Commencement experience for all.

Registration On Tuesday, May 4, you’ll be sent a link to your Curry email to the event registration form. Here, you’ll have until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 9 to provide the names and e-mail addresses of your two guests. State guidelines mandate that the two guests must be members of the same household.

Carpooling On Graduation Day, you and your two guests are required to arrive together in one car via carpool, and sit together at Commencement in a pod of three seats.

Grad Packs We will provide you with a uniquely numbered parking pass, graduation credential, and lanyard which will guide you to your seating pod on the football field. These passes will be assigned specifically to you, and are non-transferrable.

Grad Pack Pick-Up or Shipment There will be three on-campus packet pick-up days (listed below) in which you may pick up your parking pass and graduation credential at the Student Center on the Milton Campus. Both of these items will be required to enter graduation. (When registering, you may elect to have your graduation packet shipped to you, instead.)

Wednesday, May 12, 2021 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Thursday, May 13, 2021 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Friday, May 14, 2021 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Arrival Time You will be assigned a specific parking sector, arrival time frame, and the campus gate through which your carpool will enter and exit campus.

Rehearsal A virtual rehearsal will be scheduled the week prior to Commencement and all who plan to attend will be sent the link to the rehearsal. The rehearsal will include how to put your hood on and if you cannot make the zoom meeting a link will be added to the commencement website.

Hotline The College has set up a hotline for each class so graduates can call and share the pronunciation of your name- please find the link to the hotline on the Commencement page at www.curry.edu/commencement

Covid-19 Compliance Both you and your guests will be sent a Covid-19 questionnaire 48 hours before graduation. We ask for your patience and cooperation as we ring in a much-deserved celebration for your graduation. As a part of the registration process, you will be able to request a carpooling exemption or a handicapped parking reservation.
