CC8 documentary on David Griffin, produced by Daniel Coughlin
A Curry College baseball alum, David Griffin ’18, is heading to the farm system for the New York Mets, according to his current team, the Gary (Indiana) Rail Cats.
Griffin, a right-hand pitcher from Hanover, Mass., played a key role at Curry during his time on the team, helping the Colonels win the CCC tournament in 2015 and getting its first-ever NCAA tournament win.
The 24-year-old has also been successful in Gary, with the team saying he has played a “key role” in the first quarter of 2021.

Griffin’s contract was transferred to the Mets on June 15th, being the second Gary player to have his contract transferred to a Major League affiliate this season.
In a press release from the Rail Cats, they offered praise for the Curry product.
“With an overpowering four-seam, Griffin’s fastball is his bread and butter,” the statement read. “Paired with a dynamic slider that tails in and out of the zone, Griffin has proven his effectiveness by issuing the third most strikeouts in the American Association this season.”
