Video by Michael Murphy, Currier Times Contributor////

Looking for a barber shop close to Curry? The Biz may just be your new destination at 1553 Blue Hill Avenue! Video produced/reported by Michael Murphy

Broadcast Script:

As summer approaches New England, things
are beginning to buzz in the streets of
Mattapan, including a barber shop called the
biz, owned by local barber Euan Davis.

EUAN DAVIS SOT
I BEEN CUTTING HAIR FOR, SO 49, I BEEN
CUTTING MY OWN HAIR SINCE I WAS 11.
CUTTING MY FRIENDS HAIR SINCE IWAS SO I’M 30 PLUS IN THE GAME AND I
BEEN IN THE BARBERSHOP SINCE I WAS
17.

Euan’s shop is a small and friendly
atmosphere and is favorited by many in the
community. The unisex salon offers a wide
range of hairstyles and even entertainment
for music lovers.

EUAN DAVIS SOT
THE ATMOSPHERE AND THEN OUR HATS
AND THEN AS IT GREW AND WHAT I
REALIZED WE CAN DO, IT ALL STARTS
WITH HOW WE ENTERTAIN AND TAKE
CARE OF OUR AUDIENCE AND HOW DO
WE HARNESS OUR AUDIENCE AND ONE
OF THE FIRST THINGS IS MUSIC. AND
ME, I USED TO MAKE MUSIC SHOTOUT
TO MY CREW WE USED TO HAVE BAYBAY
STUDIOS.

Hiding behind the salon is an entire radio
station, equipped with flat screen TV’s,
microphones, speakers, and even turn tables.
Euan says that his passion for hair and music
is the reason for this unique combination.
Through this, he started his own social
platform and brand.

EUAN DAVIS SOT
IT ALL NATURALLY MERGED BECAUSE
THIS IS WHAT WE DO INSIDE OF THE
SHOP ALREADY. ALL I’M DOING IS
HARNESSING WHAT WE DO ALREADY
AND CREATING A PLATFORM TO DO SO
IT CAME FROM THAT.

If you love Hip-Hop and need a fresh cut,
then the Biz Barbershop is the place for you!
