Being car-less on campus this time of year won’t be as terrible as you think—there’s a bunch of things to do at Curry this month. On top of it all, we have a week off for spring break.

On Tuesday, March 6, the women’s lacrosse team plays its first home game. The Colonels take on Mount Ida College down on the Katz football field. The game starts at 4:30 p.m., so make sure you bring a blanket or two to keep warm. Curry is back at it the following day, March 7, with another 4:30 home game, this time against Lasell College.

The men’s team, which won its season-opener March 4, a 8-5 victory over Mount Ida College, is back at home on Thursday, March 8, against Husson University at 3:30 p.m. The rest of the men’s and women’s lacrosse schedules can be found on the Curry athletics Web site.

At 7 p.m. on Friday, March 9, spring break officially starts. Residence halls will reopen on Sunday, March 18 at 12 p.m.

The softball team plays its home opener on Tuesday, March 20, against Johnson & Whales University. The first pitch will be at 3 p.m. down on the D. Forbes Will Field. The rest of the team’s schedule can be found online.

The following day, Wednesday, March 21, students can take a trip to the Dedham Food Pantry to help the elderly with food shopping. The Curry van will leave the Student Center at 1 p.m.

Also on March 21, screenings will take place for Curry Kool Jamz, an event where Curry students have an opportunity to share their own poetry and music with other students. Screenings start at 7:30 p.m. in the second-floor small meeting room in the Student Center. Additional screenings will be held Thursday, March 22 and Friday, March 23.

If you like to sing and have a great time, the Live Band Karaoke event is an awesome opportunity. Taking place on Friday, March 23 in the Student Center, students can sing their favorite songs. This shindig starts at 7 p.m.

After the baseball team returns from its spring break trip to Winter Haven, Fla., the Colonels will host Gordon College on the D. Forbes Will Field on Saturday, March 24, at 12 p.m. The remainder of the team’s schedule can be found online.

Later that day, a ’90s-themed dance party will take over the ARC, located on the south side of campus across from SCRH. The dance calls for ’90s-like clothing, and will consist of music from the decade. If you’re into grunge music from the likes of Nirvana, pop beats from The Spice Girls or the angry musings of Alanis Morissette, this is the dance for you.

If you’re pleasure is on the hardwood, join your classmates on a trip to the TD Garden to watch the Boston Celtics take on the Utah Jazz on Wednesday, March 28. Curry Up and Go is hosting the opportunity. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased from the Student Center starting Monday, March 19. Transportation is including, with a van leaving the Student Center at 6 p.m. on game night.

So, get yourselves out of those stuffy dorm rooms and have some fun that you can share with anyone on campus.
